Plasticizers
Plasticizers are relatively non-volatile organic substances (mainly liquids). When incorporated into a plastic or elastomer, they help improve the following properties of the polymer:
Flexibility
Extensibility
machinability
Plasticizers increase the flow and thermoplasticity of a polymer by reducing the viscosity of the polymer melt, the glass transition temperature (Tg), the melting temperature (Tm), and the elastic modulus of the finished product, without changing the basic chemical character of the plasticized material.
DISONONYL PHTHALATE (DINP)
They are widely used in the making of Flooring, Wall Cladding, Cladding and Roof Insulation, Cables and wires, Film and sheet, Automotive, Tubes and Hoses, Coated Fabrics, Inks and candles.
Diisodecyl Phthalate (DIDP)
They are widely used in the making of Flooring, Wall Cladding, Cladding and Roof Insulation, Cables and wires, Film and sheet, Automotive, Tubes and Hoses, Coated Fabrics, Inks and candles.
DIOCTYL TEREPHALATE (DOTP)
Upholstery, Food packaging - Stretch Film, Toys, Medical Applications, Cable and wire production.
DIOCTYL ADIPATE (DOA)
DOA is used in food packaging, children's toys, wire-cable applications and transparent film production. It is also compatible with nitrocellulose, ethylcellulose, most synthetic rubbers and high butyryl cellulose acetate butyrate.
TRIOCTYL TRIMELLITATE (TOTM)
Used in Cable-wire, Film, sheet, Medical applications.
EPOXIDE SOYBEAN OIL (ESBO)
ESBO is particularly useful in PVC and its copolymers to keep plastics and rubber soft and flexible. Therefore, it is used in various kinds of food packaging materials, medical products, all kinds of films, sheets, pipes, refrigerator gaskets, artificial leather, floor leather, plastic wallpaper, wire and cable and other daily used plastic products.
Other applications of ESBO in industrial applications include lubricants, adhesives, inks, paints and coatings, fuels/biodiesel, solvents and surfactants. ESBO is also used in the packaging of non-toxic, bio-based, biodegradable and phthalate-free ready-made baby foods.
